Racial Justice & Equity Committee

The Racial Justice & Equity Committee was formed in the Summer of 2020, and its stated goals are to:

• Ensure Racial Justice & Equity in all phases of the disaster cycle

• Build Racial Justice & Equity in the NYCVOAD network structure, including amending the bylaws, suggesting changes to the systems in place, and assessing who is chosen by organizations to represent them in the meetings.

• Advocate for Racial Justice & Equity in NYCVOAD member organizations’ own structures, systems, hiring, and mentoring.
