COVID-19

New York City Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (NYCVOAD) activated on March 20, 2020 in response to COVID-19 and we remain activated.  We created the ad hoc COVID-19 Response and Recovery Committee - now called the COVID-19 Long Term Recovery Group - to facilitate increased communication, cooperation, coordination, and collaboration specifically related to COVID-19.  The group aims to increase situational awareness, reduce duplication of services and effort, identify service gaps and client needs, and raise and address barriers.  

The LTRG has the following working groups which each focus on their particular functional area.  Working groups meet separately and they also coordinate with each other during collaborative calls, which include our government partners and representatives from NYVOAD (State).

COVID Testing:

COVID Vaccines:

All New Yorkers age 12+ are now eligible for a vaccine (those 12-17 are only eligible for Pfizer) - view the NYS Vaccine Distribution page or NYC Vaccine Eligibility page for more information. 

  • Eligible NYS residents can sign up for an appointment throughout NYS at the Am I Eligible App.

  • Eligible individuals can schedule an appointment in NYC through the Vaccine Finder or via phone at 877-VAX-4NYC.

  • Eligible Bronx residents can schedule an appointment at the mass vaccination site at Yankee Stadium through the SOMOS websiteor 1-833-SOMOS-NY.

  • Walk-ups Available: Many sites can now be accessed by walk-ups. See full list at http://on.nyc.gov/WalkUpSites (updated weekly).

  • In-Home Vaccinations: New Yorkers interested in receiving an in-home vaccination can state their interest at nyc.gov/homeboundor by calling 877-VAX-4-NYC.

  • Mobile Vaccine Buses: The NYC Mobile Vaccine Bus is offering vaccines to restaurant workers and restaurant delivery workers.Appointments must be made in advance and the second dose will be scheduled for the same location.
